In addition to the usual busyness of work, Kenny, Muirneag’s technician and mechanic, takes a step back in time to restore the 103-year-old Model TT Ford owned by Garrabost Mill in Point.

The restoration project at Garrabost Mill, dating back to the 19th century, began following a community buy-out. The project’s aim is to return the grain mill to its original glory. Extensive repairs to the mill have been underway since the start of 2023, with the goal of transforming it into a hub for crofting heritage and social history, and is set to become an enticing new visitor attraction for the local area, with the addition of the Model TT Ford serving as an extra draw.

Before diving into the mechanical repairs, Kenny’s initial task was to get it safely to his garage in Lochs. It has been quite some time since the truck was last running, and Kenny has been entrusted with the important responsibility of getting it up and running again, with the hope of having it ready in time for the Point Show in July.
